refractions.
2018. digital illustration, photography.
“refractions.” is a collection of digital illustrations utilizing photos in an intuitive, textural manner, explorations of atmosphere, refraction & composition are made. Utilizing elements of illustration, glitch art, & other forms of digital illustration.. Illustrations utilize heavily edited digital media (cell phone photos, older illustrations, etc), to resemble more abstract works. There is 20-30 illustrations, with a painting-size (49in-like) monitor to display different artworks. With this in mind, the intention with this piece is to display and observe the artists’ identity & origins as a backdrop. As for displaying other illustrations, the entire collection will be in other monitors alongside the bigger monitor. The pieces would be on a rotation on each monitor utilizing video slideshows of all of the pieces. The artist's painting practice plays a heavy influence for this series, along with explorations of gender expression & interpersonal trauma. |
